DIY Lotion Bars

Recently on my YouTube channel I made a goat milk soap bar, but this soap was different! This soap has a ribbon of lotion bar through it, which makes it that much more luxurious! So, I knew that a lot of people would want the recipe for my DIY Lotion Bars, so that is what I am sharing today!

DIY Lotion Bars

You can use these DIY Lotion bars on their own, all you have to do is rub them on your skin and they will start to melt. Or, you can do what I did, and add this mix to your cold process soap. In the video below you will see that I poured the mix directly into the mold, but I think next time I will use embeds to make the lotion bar more prominent!

For this recipe you will need:

  • 2 oz Bees Wax
  • 1 oz Cocoa butter
  • 1 oz Shea Butter
  • .5 oz Coconut Oil

You can use any butters that you want really, these are just what I had on had and what I like to use.

To make the lotion bars, all you have to do is melt down all of your ingredients (I like to use a Wilton Chocolate Melting Pot). You can do this in the microwave or over a double boiler, it is up to you. Once your ingredients are nice and melted, pour them into a silicon mold and allow to harden for 1-2 hours. You will know they are ready because they will turn opaque in color.

If you really want to jazz these DIY  Lotion bars up, you can add your favorite essential oils to the mix as well.

I like to use small silicone molds for the lotion bars because one little bar will last a few uses! Check out the video below to see how I added these lotion bars to my soap!
